InBlue Web Media was founded by Daniel Secomb in 2001 under its previous name, DS Design (Daniel Secomb Graphic Design). DS Design initially focused on graphic design and only moved fully into web development in 2004. Part of the reason why the name was changed from DS Design to InBlue Web Media was because it solidified the position of InBlue Web Media as specialising primarily in web design and development and other web related media. InBlue Web Media moved from the Central Coast to Sydney in 2006.
